Martha Ottmar, 91, of Mott, N.D. went to be with her Lord and Savior Nov. 12, 2013.
Services were held Nov. 15 at Assembly of God Church (formerly First Congregational) Mott. Pastor John Amundson officiated with burial in the Neuburg UCC Cemetery north of Burt.

Serving as Honorary Casketbearers were her granddaughters, Deanne Naumann, DeNae Friedt, and Jasmine Jilek. Active Casketbearers were her grandsons, Dion, Dalynn, Jeremy, Desmond, and Jamie Ottmar, Dustin, Corey, and Casey Deg.
Martha Dena Luithle was born March 9, 1922 on the family farm north of Burt. She was the seventh of ten children born to Frederich and Elizabeth (Klein) Luithle. After graduating from Mott Lincoln High School in 1942, she worked at Schaefer’s grocery store in Mott and then taught at various township schools.
She married Jacob J. Ottmar Nov. 30, 1943 at the Neuburg Congregational Church north of Burt. Together they farmed and ranched on the Ottmar family homestead. Martha helped Jake on the farm and in the fields. She spent her days cooking, baking, cleaning and raising their four children, Duane, Dale, Delane and Darrel.
Martha was involved in many organizations including Farmers Union, Homemakers Club, Senior Citizens, Ladies Fellowship, Hettinger County Fair Board and Red Cross. She was a first aid instructor, played piano and organ at the Neuburg Church, and for entertainment she bowled and did crafts. She was very proud of her grandchildren, she loved to talk about them and enjoyed going to their programs and sporting events.
Martha was a loving and affectionate person to everyone. She loved children and was “Grandma” to many. She was very friendly and social and visited with all she met.
Since August of 2008, she has resided at the Mott Good Samaritan Society where she passed away at the age of 91 years, 8 months, three days.
Martha is survived by three children, Dale (Judy) Ottmar of Mott, N.D., Delane (James) Deg of Deerfield, Wisc. and Darrel (Jan) Ottmar of Mott, N.D. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a sister, Adeline McConochie and brother-in-law Edwin Schneider, both of Bismarck, N.D., a brother-in-law Leo Voll, Mandan, N.D. and a sister-in-law Sarah Luithle, Bismarck, N. D.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jacob; son, Duane; brothers, Fred, Edward and John and sisters Bertha Dohn, Carolyn Belmore, Ida Luithle, Frieda Voll, and Elizabeth Schneider.
A memorial has been established.
