Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the St. Vincent’s Catholic Church in Mott. Fr. Charles Zins will officiate and burial will follow at the Sunnyslope Cemetery in Mott.

Raymond (Ray) Paul Schiwal was born Nov. 10, 1953 to Mike and Georgia (Schaff) Schiwal in Mott, N.D. He was raised on the family farm north of town until 1964 when they moved into town. He graduated from Mott Lincoln High School in 1971.

Ray was joined in marriage Jan. 11, 1974 to Judy Ann Krug. Together they had two children, Tesha and Branden.

Ray had many jobs throughout his life including landscaper, meat-cutter, elevator operator, football coach and most recently a bar owner.

Ray enjoyed deer hunting, golf, horse-back riding, watching sports and playing softball in his younger years. Even though Ray moved to town at the age of nine, the ranching life never left him. He always looked forward to the opportunity to work cattle with anyone who asked him to help. Ray was very much family centered and any mention of his grandchildren brought a big smile to his face.

Grateful for having shared in Ray’s life are his wife, Judy; daughter, Tesha (Jeremy) Jahner; son, Branden (Nicole) Schiwal; grandchildren, Madison, Bailey and Ava Jahner and Abby and Cooper Schiwal; brothers and sisters, Mike (Genie) Schiwal, Rosalee (Hank) Geray, John Derrek, Linda (Rich) Lindemann, Dave Schiwal, Donny Schiwal, Becky (Dean) Lutz, Berny (Brian) Kilzer and Michelle (Dion) Ottmar; his mother, Georgia Schiwal and many nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his father, Mike; father-in-law John Krug; mother-in-law, Florence Krug; mother-in-law, Margie Krug; brother-in-law, Curtis Krug and sister-in-law, Sharon Allen.

Arrangements are with Evanson Jensen Funeral Home, Mott, N.D.
