Pauline W. Ross, age 95, of Mott, N.D. passed away Sept. 7, 2013 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rochford, N.D.

The funeral service was held Sept. 12, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mott. Pastor John Amundson officiated with burial in Sunnyslope Cemetery at Mott.

Special music was provided by Pat Schwartz, organist.

Serving as casketbearers were David Phillips, Jim Snook, Jerry Obrigenitsch, Ryan Elkin, Scot Ross, David Schlosser, Jim Schlosser, and Stephen Ross. All of her other grandchildren and great grandchildren were considered honorary bearers.

Pauline Wilhelmina Fiedler was born March 10, 1918, on the family homestead in Chilton Township southwest of Mott, N.D. She attended country school and finished her education in Mott.

She was united in marriage to Vernon “Bud” Ross Jan. 1, 1938 in Mott. They began their life together on a farm southwest of Mott. In 1963, they moved into Mott. Pauline worked as a waitress, bartender, and later as a babysitter. She took care of her family and was known for her gardening, sewing, crafts, oil painting, cooking, and hospitality.

Pauline is survived by her son and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Suzann Ross, Arlington, Texas; Janis Ross, Bremen, N.D.; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Sonja and Bob Hartze, Lakeland, Minn.; Brenda and Dan Phillips, Harwood, N.D.; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Alice Fiedler, Bismarck, N.D. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon “Bud” June 15, 1999; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert and Elaine Ross and Dwight Ross; six brothers, Fred, Daniel, William, Jacob, Gustav, and John Fiedler; five sisters, Emma Hahn, Elsa Nygaard, Mary Fiedler, Ida Fiedler, and a baby girl Fiedler.

Evanson Jensen Funeral Home, Mott, N.D. was in charge of arrangements.
