Leland Leroy Ehleringer, Hettinger, N.D. entered into eternal life Oct. 24, 2012.

Leland was born Dec. 4, 1942 to William and Caroline Ehleringer in Regent, N.D. Lee attended high school in Hettinger and graduated from Hettinger High School in 1960. After graduation, Lee enlisted in the United States Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S. Stribling. He was honorably discharged in 1966.

Following his discharge, Lee, worked in Bozeman, Mont., Seattle, Wash. and Susanville, Calif. and eventually returned to Hettinger in 1976 to assist his mother, after the passing of his father. Lee worked at the West River Regional Medical Center in the Environmental Service Maintenance Department for twenty-five and one-half years. Lee was “Johnny on the Spot” whenever things needed to be done at the hospital. He retired in September of 2006.

Leland is survived by his sister and brother, Connie and Leon; aunts, Ann Wieland, Leota Lein and Helen (Lyle) Welsh; nephews, Bryan (Helen), Kyle (Elizabeth), Bill (Natalie); nieces, Korlyn, Michelle, Sara, Jody along with their families and numerous cousins.

Leland was preceded in death by his father, and mother William and Caroline; grandparents Bertha and Anton Ehleringer and John and Anna Wieland; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Private family services were held. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the West River Regional Medical Center.

Evanson Jensen Funeral Home, Hettinger, N.D. was in charge of arrangements.
